Saint Michael Parish – Pastoral Associate/Hispanic Minister
St. Michael’s is a small, multicultural, rural parish in a quaint little town of Sebree, KY. We have a well-loved, collaborative pastor, Fr. Carmelo who needs someone to help with ministry. This is an exciting and challenging position in a lively parish with a growing Hispanic community.
Saint Michael Parish in Sebree, KY has a job opportunity for a full-time Pastoral Associate/Hispanic Minister working under the supervision of the Pastor.
Qualifications and Duties:
- Requires BA in Theology/Religious Education or a related field or certificate in ministry or theology from a Catholic institution of higher learning; or equivalent ministry experience;
- Must be fully bilingual Spanish – English;
- A Practicing Catholic who is a pastoral, prayerful person committed to personal and professional growth;
- Must possess a deep sense of mission work and outreach in the Church, especially with Immigrants and their children; experience in attending to the pastoral and social needs of Hispanics in the US. About 75% of St. Michael’s parishioners are Hispanic, that includes Latin-American indigenous from Mexico and Guatemala;
- Competent in communications, interpersonal and relationship “people” skills;
- Computer competent (e.g. Microsoft Office), WordPress and Social Media competent;
- Possess planning, management, leadership, relationship, and communication skills with the ability to utilize these skills in a pastoral manner, to facilitate meetings and lead teams of volunteers;
- Understand life-long catechesis, lay ministry, youth & young adult ministry and evangelization;
- Organize, schedule and oversee religious education and sacramental preparation programs for Children, youth and Adults
- Assist the pastor and volunteer leaders in the areas of pastoral planning, liturgy, popular piety devotions, outreach, finances and administration
- Flexibility and availability to work evening and weekend hours
- Commitment to the mission of the Roman Catholic Church
- Successfully complete a criminal history and background check
