Holy Week has begun! Check out all of our activities here!
Upcoming Ministry Opportunities
Holy Week Masses: Please sign up with Patti to serve at one of the liturgies this week. We will need sacristans, hospitality ministers, Eucharistic ministers, lectors, servers & extra helpers for each mass!
Easter Decorating: Please consider coming to lend a hand to decorate for Easter on Saturday, April 4th at 10am.
This Week:
Holy Week Masses: Make plans to attend the special liturgies this week to dive into the mystery of our faith! Due to their singular nature there will only be one bilingual mass each day of the Triduum (Thursday, Friday & Saturday)
Passion Play in the Streets of Sebree: Everyone is invited to experience the Way of the Cross live on Good Friday departing from St. Michael’s at 5pm returning about 6:30pm. There will be bilingual meditations at each station.
Our Parish Family
Charbroil Grill Raffle: The local Knights are raffling off an outside, charbroil grill on April 23rd at their meeting. Buy tickets from any member of the Knights for $5/each.
Parish Hall & Parish Center: The former rectory (next to the Parish Hall) is now being used for classrooms/meeting rooms and the Parish Council has named it the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Center. (“Guadalupe Center”) We will have an official dedication after the 10:30am Mass on May 24th. Come join us! We will also rededicate the Parish Hall to be officially named the Fr. Carl Glahn Parish Hall (“Glahn Hall”) in honor of our founding pastor who passed away in January.
New Spanish Mass Starts This Weekend: Due to the crowd at the 12pm mass (120-150 each week) and many people’s work schedules, the parish leadership has decided to add a Sunday mass in Spanish at 7:30pm on a trial basis until July.
Fr. Antonio named Associate Pastor of St. Michael’s: Since his arrival in November Fr. Antonio has been anticipating his official assignment. He has now gone from a resident priest to a member of the Parish Team! This will allow both he and Fr. Carmelo to continue to assist other parishes with Hispanic communities on a regular basis while still attending to the St. Michael’s Parish Family. Welcome Fr. Antonio!

Come on over to the Chrism Mass! It is Bishop Medley’s desire that the Chrism Mass be an annual gathering of the entire Diocese! It is held in the Owensboro Sportscenter at 6:30pm on Holy Tuesday each year to accommodate as many as possible. Please make an effort to attend this year on March 31st. If you’re interested in carpooling from St. Michael’s, please let Patti know.
Father John Meredith has been assigned to prayer and penance and would like to be of assistance to people of the diocese. If you would like to send him a prayer request his email address for your intentions is letmeprayforyou54@gmail.com
Thank you for considering this and let us pray for each other.
