Our Parish Family

Sebree Christian Outreach: Please consider lending a hand on Saturdays from 9am-12pm at the Outreach.  This is a ministry for the needy shared by churches in the area and during October it is St. Michael’s turn to help staff it.  Volunteers are also needed during the month on weekdays to help sort new donations.  If you are able to help please let Rosie Edwards know.

Coloring Book Collection: Next week is the last week to bring coloring books. Please help us brighten the day of a child by bringing some coloring books before Oct. 2nd.

Middle School & High School Youth Group started this week with 10 youth and will continue!  If you know of a young person that may be interested please let Patti know so she can keep them aware of upcoming activities for youth!  Or if you’d like to volunteer occasionally let Patti know!

Annual Feast Day & Festival Oct 2nd: This year the annual fundraising festival and the bilingual mass celebrating our patron Saint Michael will be combined this year on Sunday, Oct. 2nd. Half of all proceeds will help fund the                    Thanksgiving Baskets!  There is a sign up by the door to help, please consider lending a hand!   There will only be one bilingual mass at 11am that day (Sun. 10:30am & 12pm Masses are cancelled Oct. 2nd).  The procession leaves at 10:30am or you can meet us at the park for 11am.

St. Michael’s Parish Family Celebrates 40 years!  If you have memories and photos of the early days of the parish, please share them with Patti who will be compiling them  during our year long commemoration culminating with a big homecoming Mass next November when we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the church being dedicated Nov. 20, 1977.

Christmas for Veterans 2016: Dan Hawkins is collecting donations to brighten the holidays of veterans with a flag set.

After School Volunteers Needed in Dixon for the High School’s afterschool programs.  See the flyer on the bulletin board for more info.

Our Faith Family

The Holy Year Popes Exhibit:  To celebrate this Holy Year of Mercy you are cordially invited to attend an exhibit entitled: The Holy Year Popes History and Memorabilia 1300 – 2016.  This exhibit, presented by the Office of the Vicar General and the Reeves/Helder Legacy and hosted by Brescia University, can be seen September 16th through November 20th, 2016 in the Brescia Administration Building Lobby (120 West 7th Street, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301). It is open Monday through Friday from 7 AM – 6 PM.  For groups of 20 or more, or weekend tours, please contact Sally Halbig at 270-686-4236 or sallyh@brescia.edu.
