Can you help?  For our big annual fundraiser at the St. Michael Feast Day from 12-4pm could you help serve food, paint faces or supervise one of the kid’s games?  Please take a color flyer to hang up at work or your favorite local restaurant!  Please help us spread the word with your friends and family!  Share the Facebook event.

St. Michael Feast Day begins in unity & prayer on Sunday, Sept. 24th at 10:30am in procession from church to the park, 11am bilingual mass in park followed by parish picnic style fundraiser.  Please make plans to join your parish family in celebrating our patron feast!  NOTE: there will be no 10:30am or 12pm masses at St. Michael’s that day!  But we will still have the Saturday 5pm and Sunday 7:30pm masses.

Chris Gutiérrez will be ordained a permanent deacon on Saturday, Sept. 16th at 10am at Holy Spirit parish in Bowling Green.  On Sunday, Sept 17th there will be a small reception following each morning mass.  The Bishop has assigned  Deacon Chris to St. Michael’s for his (volunteer) ministry.  His contact information is on the front of the bulletin, so feel free to contact him.

St. Michael to host Children’s Religious Education Mass for the deanery (Webster, Union & Henderson counties).  Bishop Medley will celebrate Mass at St. Michael’s on Wednesday, Oct. 4th at 6pm followed by a light meal and games.  If you could lend a hand putting together the sack dinner, serving or just directing people, please let Patti or Jenny know.

Vocations Ministry Workshop: If you would like to learn more about how to promote vocations in your family, community or parish please make plans to join Rhonda  Gruenewald for a Vocation Ministry Workshop on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 9-Noon at the McRaith Catholic Center. Do You Receive Scam Calls?  Please join Attorney General Andy Beshear’s Office of Senior Protection in partnership with AARP Kentucky to learn about scams, how and why they work, and what you can do to protect yourself.  When: Thursday, October 19, 2017  Host: St. Stephen Cathedral Community Center 610 Locust Street Owensboro, KY 42301  Time: 1 p.m.

Young Adult Holy Hour On Monday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. St. Stephen Cathedral will host a Holy Hour for young adults ages 18-39. Priests will be available for confession during the Holy Hour. After the Holy Hour, please join us for dinner at a local restaurant.

“Great and Longing Heart” Oct. 3   The next monthly Evening with an Ursuline dinner and presentation will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 3. “With Great and Longing Heart” will be presented by Ursuline Sister Ruth Gehres. Mary lived “full of grace” because her heart was alert and open to God. In this presentation, we will reflect on the gift of a listening and longing heart, ready to receive God.The dinner and presentation is from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center (located 12 miles west of Owensboro on Hwy. 56).
