Upcoming Ministry Opportunities

Volunteers who would like to help put together & distribute the Thanksgiving Baskets can ask Charles for details.  It will be Friday, Nov. 20th in the evening and Sat., Nov. 21st.

More volunteers are needed to help count the weekly collections either after mass on Sunday or during the week.  Gifts needed: confidentiality, attention to details, trustworthy.

Our Parish Family

Thanksgiving Baskets & Raffle: The Knights are fundraising and accepting donations to help fund 200 baskets for the needy this year!  You can buy raffle tickets for a rifle for $5 from any member of the Knights.  Drawing is Nov. 19th! Or you can leave food donations by the church doors.  Monetary donations can be given to Charles Buchanan ASAP.  If you know of a needy family to put on the list please let Charles know. Food donations needed: stuffing mix (boxes), sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, potatoes (5lbs bags), butter,           dinner rolls, box desserts.  Families range from 1-7 members.

Parish Council Nominations: This week we are still taking nominations for those who will help guide our parish for a 3-year term.  The meetings are every two months for 1.5 hours.  Anyone who attends mass at St. Michael’s on a regular basis is eligible.  Those already nominated are: Donna Dacy, Linda Frederick, Carolyn Buchanan, Devin Gibson, Greg Dant,  Annett Dant, Linda Shelton, Billy Howell, Donna Kenney, Jimmy Frederick, Ray Fulkerson, Jenny Glenn, Connie  Caldwell, Brenda Allinder, Charles Buchanan, Jon Newton, Wayne Folz, Maria Durbin, and Bobby Blanford.

Those coming off the Parish Council are Devin Gibson & Jenny Glenn and those continuing to serve are Greg Sugg, Peggy Howell, Michael Coomes & Valerie Newell.

Open Parish Council Meeting: Everyone is invited to join the parish council meeting on Monday, Nov. 16th at 6pm for our  annual open meeting.  If you have any concerns or           suggestions you would like to bring in person you may.  All of those who are nominated for Parish Council are strongly encouraged to come participate before deciding whether to accept their nomination.

Advent Scripture Study: The first three Mondays of Advent (Nov. 30th, Dec. 7th & 14th) you are invited to a Bible Study at 6pm to help us prepare spiritually for the Christmas season.

Christmas Mass Schedule: on Dec. 24th we will have Mass in English at 5pm, Mass in Spanish at 7pm and on Dec. 25th we will have mass at 12pm (language depending on who is here).  Invite your friends & family who may be looking for a church home to celebrate the holidays!

Eucharistic Ministers Formation: For those currently          serving or those who would like to serve, please consider  attending a short formation session at 9am on Sunday, Nov. 29th.  Bring your questions about this ministry!

Our Community

Community Thanksgiving Service: Join other Christians in the area for a night of prayer and fellowship on Sunday, November 22nd at 6pm at First Christian Church.  Bro. Keith Wilcox from General Baptist will preach.  An offering will be taken up to benefit the community benevolence fund.

Community Christmas Dinner: Would you like to volunteer with other churches in town to host a dinner for needy families in the area on Dec. 13th?   Contact Keith at 270-339-7591 for more info.
