Volunteers are needed to clean the Parish Center (former rectory) on a rotating basis.

Fr. Antonio celebrates 30 years as a priest! July 25th is Fr. Antonio’s 30th anniversary of his ordination! Don’t forget to congratulate him and thank him for his service to the Church!
POPE FRANCIS’ Visit to the U.S.! The Pope will be visiting the faithful on September 26th & 27th in Philadelphia, PA. St. Michael’s is considering organizing a caravan of people who would like to attend the papal events. Each carload would cover their gas expense & each person would pay for their food. We would crash on the floor of a local parish’s community center. If you are interested please add your name to the list on the bulletin board or let Patti know! We will have an informational/planning meeting soon!
Parish Council Meets this Monday, July 20th at 6pm. If you have a concern or issue that needs to be discussed please let a member know. A summary of the financial report and next year’s budget is in the bulletin. Copies of the more detailed reports and budget will be available after Monday.
Liturgical Formation—Everyone who serves or would like to serve in the liturgy is asked to attend a liturgical formation session either Sat. Aug. 8th after the 5pm mass or Sun. Aug 9th at 9am. This would include current and future sacristans, greeters, Eucharistic ministers, lectors, cantors, and altar servers. We will cover the specifics of each ministry as well as the general aspects of meaningful and beautiful liturgy.
Save the Date fundraiser—Date change from August 9th to September 13th: The parish fundraiser the Hispanic parishioners are organizing has been moved to Sunday, September 13th because of schedule conflicts. Sorry for the confusion! It will be at Sebree Springs park. Please make plans to come support the parish have some fun with carnival-style games, lots of fun competitions and great home-made food!

VOCARE—Bishop Medley and the VOCARE committee would like to invite parishioners to consider purchasing or sponsoring a table for the dioceses’ Second Annual VOCARE event set for Friday, September 18, 2015 and to be held at the Owensboro Convention Center. Vocare will be an exciting evening of celebration of Vocations to the Priesthood and commemorating the Year of Consecrated Life. Tables can be purchased or sponsored at $500 for a table of eight. Individual tickets can be purchased for $65 and couples may purchase a pair of tickets for $125. Tables/tickets may be reserved by contacting Kathy Rasp in the Bishop’s office at 270-683-1545 or by email at Kathy.rasp@pastoral.org.
St. Gerard Life Home in Owensboro, KY – provides free shelter and services for pregnant women age 18 and older in a crisis pregnancy. A woman may come to us at any point in her pregnancy and may stay for up to 3 months after the birth of her child. There are no limitations on race, nationality or religion.
