Parish Feast Day Celebration Next Sunday!!  All members of the St. Michael parish family are invited to gather together for a bilingual mass on Sunday, October 4th at 11am to                celebrate our Patron Saint Michael!!  Mass will be held in the Sebree Springs Park so we will have plenty of room to            celebrate all together.  A procession will leave St. Michael’s at 10:30am to walk to the park for those that would like to participate.  Everyone is asked to bring food to share in the park following Mass.  (Dishes could be dropped off at the park before the procession)  For those unable to attend there will still be English Mass Sat. at 5pm & Spanish Sun. 7:30pm

Inquiry Session on Oct 1st 6pm—If you have               someone in mind who may want to join the church or return to the Church after many years invite them to mass!  And if they would like to know more or have time to ask questions invite them to our upcoming      Inquiry Session here at St. Michael’s.  If you would like information about having your marriage recognized by the Church, find out more about an annulment, or learn about adult Catholics receiving                 Sacraments join us for the Inquiry Session!

Congratulations to Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Loehr, our parish’s recipient of this year’s Sophia Award!!  This              annual mass and award ceremony will take place on Sunday, Oct 4th, at 2pm at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Owensboro with a reception to follow.  All are welcome to attend.  This award is based on current or past outstanding contributions of time, talent & treasure for anyone over 65 years old.  Liz has been a dedicated member of the parish since its beginning and has served God faithfully in countless ways. Thanks Liz!!

Drivers Needed on Sept 30th, 5pm—All of the children from religious education programs around our deanery & their families will be gathering for Mass with the Bishop on Wed., Sept 30th in Waverly.  Drivers are needed to leave St. Michael’s at 5pm & will be returning at 8:30pm.

English Classes Continue this Week!  Volunteers are needed to help provide transportation, child care & homework help & leading small groups in learning  English.  Please contact Joe Goeltz if you can help 812-454-5537

Religious Education (K-8) Classes have begun!  If you would like to register your child or grandchild they are welcome to join us each Wednesday from 5:45 to 7pm.

Upcoming Ministry Opportunities

Our parish is helping to sponsor a health fair in Sebree on Nov. 7th.  Volunteers are needed to help at the event & also donations for door prizes.

More supervisory adults are needed for our weekly faith       formation classes for K-6.  Wednesdays 5:45-7pm.

Help is needed to get local NA & AA groups off the ground.  If you can help, let us know!

Volunteers are needed to clean the Parish Center (former           rectory) on a rotating basis.

Marian Retreat Oct. 17-18: A Marian Retreat titled “Masterpieces of the Church” will take place the weekend of Oct. 17-18 at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center. The Church is an artist and sets before us her beauty and the love of the Blessed Mother. Our time with the Blessed Mother is to ponder her great feast, these masterpieces of the Church. The retreat will be led by Msgr.               Bernard Powers and includes opportunities for solitude, communal prayer and the Eucharist. Retreat begins Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and ends Sunday at 1 p.m. Retreat fee is $125 for residents or $85 for commuters. Contact Kathy McCarty at 270-229-0269  Find a flyer online at www.ursulinesmsj.org

St. Gerard Life Home in Owensboro, KY – provides free shelter and services for pregnant women age 18 and older in a crisis pregnancy.  A woman may come to us at any point in her pregnancy and may stay for up to 3 months after the birth of her child.  There are no limitations on race, nationality or religion.
