As of June 10th, Fr. Carmelo will be pastor of St. Michael’s
To all my brothers and sisters of the parish of St. Michael in Sebree, KY, I send my greetings with much joy and enthusiasm because very soon I will be with you. A few weeks ago I was in Rome, Italy for the canonization of St. John XXIII and St. John Paul II and by the grace of God I was able to celebrate a few masses in the Vatican. The first of those masses was in the chapel of St. Mary of the Apostles which I offered for the parish, because you have been in my heart from the day I received my appointment and I have prayed about this change.
My priestly ministry has been missionary and I have grown in the spirituality of belonging to the entire Church, to the point that the divine will is manifested in my bishops. What a joy to have double the Bishops, because my time in the US depends on my Archbishop of Tuxtla and my time in each parish depends on my Bishop of Owensboro, and where they need me, I will go and I will serve.
I pray that God will help us walk together the path of God, growing in love of God and the love of neighbor as well. Together in prayer and anticipation.
