Al has been asked by Bishop Medley to join Fr. Carl McCarthy in ministry as the Parochial Vicar of Sts. Joseph and Paul Parish in Owensboro where there is a large and active Hispanic community. He will also continue to serve as chaplain to at the Kentucky State Penitentiary and Western Kentucky Correctional Complex.

Carmelo Jimenez has been appointed as the Pastor of St. Michael’s. He currently serves as Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Parish in Bowling Green. He is originally from Mexico and has been serving in the Diocese of Owensboro for more than 7 years. He has been ordained for 15 years. He has a missionary spirit and looks forward to his first experience as pastor in the US.

Patti Gutiérrez will continue working at St. Michael’s full time. Her title and job description are still being decided, but she will no longer be Parish Life Coordinator and Fr. Bruce McCarty will no longer be the Priest Moderator since the parish will now have a Pastor.
