Our Parish Family

Sacramental Preparation Starting soon!  Do you know someone who would like to learn more about becoming Catholic, coming back to the church after years or completing their Initiation Sacraments (Baptism, First Communion & Confirmation)?  Would you like to assist in the formation of those preparing to receive sacraments?  RCIA, Confirmation prep and Religious Ed for K-6 are all starting soon!  Please spread the word and encourage others to contact Fr. Carmelo or Patti soon if they are interested in learning more.  If you are willing to help in some capacity please let them know as well.

Liturgy Committee: Meets quarterly with Kay Beth to give input on the music for the 10:30am mass.  If you are interested in joining or just giving input the next meeting is on August 28th after the 10:30am mass.

English Classes Starting back up: Would you like to help local immigrants improve their English?  Helpers and child care workers are needed!  Classes will be each Monday from 6-8pm starting on Sept. 12th. For more info contact Joe Goeltz at 812-454-5537.

Religious Education (K-6): All children from Kindergarten through 6th grade are encouraged to attend our classes from 5:45-7pm each Wednesday starting Sept. 7th.  Please make plans to bring your kids and grandkids!  We are still needing one more helper or co-teacher for the 5th & 6th grade class.

New Liturgical Ministers Schedule: By the door there are copies of the Schedule for liturgical ministers and cleaning volunteers for August, September & October.  Thanks to all those who serve our parish family in these roles!

Annual Feast Day & Festival: This year the annual fundraising festival and the bilingual mass celebrating our patron Saint Michael will be combined this year on Sunday, Oct. 2nd.  If you would like to join the planning committee the first meeting will be Sunday, Aug. 21st at 8:30pm.

Our Community

Peddling for a Purpose: A group of cyclists are riding through Sebree Monday, August 15, on their way to a fundraiser in Little Rock Arkansas. They are raising money along the route for Miracles for Mary a non-profit helping families dealing with traumatic brain injuries.  They will be staying the night in the First Baptist church.  If you would like to meet them and hear more about this foundation, they invite you to come by Monday night.  To learn more about this you can go to www.miraclesformary.com. We are putting together at UK/KY basket for their auction if you would like to donate item or cash for their cause please bring it to them.

Free Dental Care: For those unable to get dental care elsewhere, Baldwin Dental group will provide your choice of a free filling, extraction or cleaning on Saturday, Aug. 27th.  Registration begins at 7:30am, first come, first serve.  32 East Broadway, Madisonville.  270-821-2800

Our Faith Family

Family Camp The Family Life Office is hosting their 2nd annual Family Camp at Gasper River Catholic Youth Camp & Retreat Center from August 19-21 (Friday evening – Sunday noon). To register, visit owensborodiocese.org/familycamp/.   Space is limited so apply today!  Join other families for a weekend of daily mass, quiet time for prayer and reflection surrounded by God’s creation, and fun activities. You will have the opportunity to listen to talks and reflections on how to raise a Catholic family in this world where it is often times hostile to our faith. Save the Date: Owensboro Diocesan Youth Conference, Nov. 18-19, 2016.  Nicely Center, Bowling Green.  (For middle & high school age youth)

VOCARE 2016 | SAVE THE DATE!  September 23, 2016

Come help the Diocese celebrate and encourage vocations!  The Diocese of Owensboro is now accepting registrations for VOCARE 2016, the event of the year for the Diocese.   It is an opportunity to dress your finest and help our Diocese increase awareness of vocations, celebrate vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life, and provide financial support for seminarian education. The evening begins at 5:00 PM at the Owensboro Convention Center with a cocktail/social hour. Dinner will promptly begin at 6:00 PM and will feature a keynote address by Andy Day, Diocese of Owensboro native and southeast regional director of FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students). Those interested in attending can purchase an entire table, a single seat or seats for two.
