Sebree Christian Outreach: Please consider joining other volunteers from our parish each Saturday this month from 9am to 12pm at this local ministry to help the needy.

Our parish is helping to sponsor a health fair in Sebree on Nov. 7th.  Volunteers are needed to help at the event & also donations for door prizes.

More supervisory adults are needed for our weekly faith       formation classes for K-6.  Wednesdays 5:45-7pm.

Our Parish Family

Truck for Sale!  The parish has been donated a truck!  The parish council has decided to sell the truck via sealed bids (auction).  It is a 2003 Chevy S10 with a Kelly Blue Book value of $6,700.  Sealed bids will be taken until October 18th at which time the parish council will open the bids and notify the winner.  The proceeds will be used to jumpstart the              fundraising for Phase 2 of the parish hall renovation which includes replacing the carpet.

September Mass Counts: During the month of September the Diocese asks us to keep track of how many people attend each mass.  Averages during the month: 5pm Mass: 22, 10:30am Mass: 41, 12pm Mass: 146 and 7:30pm Mass: 32.

Thanks to our Catechists for their help in bringing our             delegation of 46 to the Deanery Religious Education              Gathering in Waverly, KY with Bishop Medley!

Inquiry Session on Oct 8th 6pm—If you have               someone in mind who may want to join the church or return to the Church after many years invite them to mass!  And if they would like to know more or have time to ask questions invite them to our upcoming      Inquiry Session here at St. Michael’s.  If you would like information about having your marriage recognized by the Church, find out more about an annulment, or learn about adult Catholics receiving                 Sacraments join us for the Inquiry Session!

English Classes Continue this Week!  Each week attendance has continued to rise!  Volunteers are needed to help provide transportation, child care & homework help & leading small groups in learning  English.  Please contact Joe Goeltz if you can help 812-454-5537

Religious Education (K-8) Classes have begun!  If you would like to register your child or grandchild they are welcome to join us each Wednesday from 5:45 to 7pm.

Our Faith Family

Consecrated Life Celebration!  All people in our diocese are invited to attend a special ceremony commemorating the Year of Consecrated Life on Saturday, October 24 at the Parish of the Immaculate.  Please join in the first ever diocesan wide event to honor the sisters, brothers, and priests of religious orders who minister in all of western Kentucky.  The Liturgy, celebrated by Bishop Medley, will begin at 10:00 a.m. and followed by a Dinner with members of the religious orders. Both events will be at the Parish of the Immaculate, 2516 Christie Place, Owensboro.

Please RSVP by October 17 in order to ensure enough food is prepared.  However, you may attend even if unable to make the preferred reservations. RSVP to Kathy.Rasp@pastoral.org, (270-852-8340)

Marian Retreat Oct. 17-18: A Marian Retreat titled “Masterpieces of the Church” will take place the weekend of Oct. 17-18 at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center. Retreat begins Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and ends Sunday at 1 p.m. Retreat fee is $125 for residents or $85 for commuters. Contact Kathy McCarty at 270-229-0269  Find a flyer online at www.ursulinesmsj.org

The Church is an artist and sets before us her beauty and the love of the Blessed Mother. Our time with the Blessed Mother is to ponder her great feast, these masterpieces of the Church. The retreat will be led by Msgr.               Bernard Powers and includes opportunities for solitude, communal prayer and the Eucharist.
